Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Standish Lower Ground Saint Anne's.

It is a privilege and pleasure to be the Headteacher at this wonderful school.  Since taking over in September 2023, it has been fantastic to get to know the children who attend St Anne's and they all make every day a special one.  They are kind, polite and caring and they make us and their families proud.  The staff are very dedicated and work hard every day to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

Our school's mission is rooted in the teachings of Jesus.

Matthew 5:16 'In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.'

The school was inspected in July 2023 under the SIAMs framework, which evaluates a school's distinctive Christian vision.  The inspection was very successful.

'School leaders have established a Christian vision which truly reflects the local context, inspiring a welcoming, diverse community.  Leaders at all levels are motivated by the vision to ‘nurture, grow and achieve’.  Therefore, pupils, including those considered to be vulnerable, flourish.'

The last academic year at St Anne's was a busy one and the children were able to enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities.  They children enjoyed cake and sang brilliantly to their families at our MacMillan Coffee Morning (raising over £500).  Harvest Festival celebrations were led by Revd Andrew and Revd Jenny and the children shared their learning about Harvest with their families.  Revd Andrew and Revd Jenny also celebrated worship assemblies each week in school.

There were many highlights last year but a few special occasions spring to mind.  At Christmas the infants visited Windmill Farm and enjoyed a train ride to visit Father Christmas!  The juniors enjoyed sledging and sliding at the Chill Factore.  The choir sang Chistmas carols to the parishioners of St Anne's.  In the spring term, all the children watched David Walliam's 'Awful Auntie' in Manchester.  The juniors were lucky to watch the Halle Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall.  We participated in lots of sporting events with local schools throughout the year - from a Panathlon to football, from rounders to Kimball - the children represented St Anne's brilliantly and made us very proud with their effort and attitude.

The children and staff worked really hard in class and school all year and the end of year assessments were very pleasing.  The children fully deserved the success they achieved.

We are looking forward to another great year at St Anne's...with lots more love, laughter and learning.

If you would like to visit the school at any time, please contact the school office.  It would be our pleasure to show you around our wonderful school.
